Videocraft Workshop's START EDITING NOW!, with Bill Davis, is a two-disc
workshop that works with all popular video editing software and is
compatible with both PCs and Macs.
Bill started doing radio commercial voiceover work right out of college and landed his first TV job soon after as the writer and announcer for a local weekly real estate sales show. That job started him hanging around TV stations – and taught him dozens of ways to describe a kitchen as “small” without actually using the word . . . “step-saver kitchen” is still his favorite!
After a few years he stepped into advertising, first as a radio spot producer and copywriter, and later, as the owner of his own advertising agency. When clients learned that he knew something about TV production they started twisting his arm to help them with their video work. It quickly became his favorite part of the job.
The advent of computerized “desktop” digital video editing tools only proved to strengthen Bill’s love of video and for the past 15 years he’s scripted, shot and edited more than 300 video programs – doing work for major corporations, government agencies, municipalities, and not-for profit community service organizations.
Combining this interest in video technology with his love of writing, he sent a spec article on Desktop Video Color to a leading national video magazine in late 1995. Published in the March issue the following year, it was the first of more than 100 published articles which he has penned (clicked?) in the years since.
It was in part to share his enthusiasm and adventure, and in part to share his knowledge, that Bill began giving presentations on editing techniques around the country. As he traveled, it became more obvious that people with all levels of experience were interested in hearing and learning more about video editing. Both new and experienced editors, coming from a variety of backgrounds, had one thing in common—the need for professionally shot footage for practicing and improving their video editing techniques.
The Videocraft Workshop series will allow YOU to take advantage of editing tips and techniques gleaned from years of experience—practical information you can immediately put to use in your own next video.
Videocraft Workshop has put together a special raffle! Anyone attending our November meeting can enter to win a portable DVD player and one of the START EDITING NOW! products. One winner will be chosen at the end of the November tour from all the statewide Arizona Alliance of Computer Clubs members. Also after the tour, an additional drawing will be held for six winners of copies of START EDITING NOW! There will also be special pricing offered at the meeting and for a short time on the website, www.videocraftworkshop.com. If you order from the website, however, you will have to pay postage.
Hope to see you at the November meeting, where you can learn everything you want to know about video editing.
