Kathy Jacobs, author and Phoenix PC User Group Vice President, is coming to our December meeting to help us learn how to do screen shots the easy way: Using TechSmith’s SnagIt.
SnagIt has all the screen capture and editing functionality you’ll ever need, in one simply powerful program. There are times when sharing exactly what you see on your screen is the quickest and clearest way to communicate. Using SnagIt, you can capture anything on your screen, then easily add text, arrows, or effects, and save the capture to a file or share it immediately by e-mail or instant messenger. On the Web or on your desktop, there are thousands of ways SnagIt can add speed, creativity and ease to your everyday tasks. Capture exactly what you see on your screen – an image, an article, part of a Web page, or even the contents of a scrolling window. Then, let SnagIt embed the capture directly into the body of an e-mail message, and send it to a colleague, technical support, or even your best friend.
With SnagIt, capturing anything on your screen is one click away. At the same time, SnagIt is powerful enough to handle all of your custom capture needs. SnagIt’s powerful built-in Editor lets you crop, resize, adjust color, add text and apply custom effects without ever opening another editing application. SnagIt makes it easy to share your captures in print, by e-mail, by instant messenger, or on the Web.
In creating her two books, multiple articles, and variety of on-line classes and presentations, Kathy has learned how to take screen shots the hard way. Kathy has used SnagIt extensively for many years to record everything from simple error messages to complete web pages with live links.
Kathy's professional background in computers extends back to the mid-80s. She has a computer science degree from back in the days before IBM made personal computers. Over the years, she has used many different pieces of software on a wide range of hardware. Out of all the tools in her computer toolset, the one utility she uses most frequently is TechSmith's SnagIt. She has been featured on the TechSmith blog and has done screen casts for them. In addition, she writes regularly for a variety of web sites. She has spoken multiple times for the Phoenix PC User Group, where she is currently Vice President.
While she can't walk on water, Kathy feels that with the help of SnagIt, she doesn't need to - SnagIt will let her take the screenshots that let you learn how.
